Puzzle games are probably
the most widely spread type of game other than pure action games probably
because they don't have to rely on fancy graphics and such. X-it is a puzzle
game in which you control a man who has to go through a maze filled with
block, obstacles and what not. Solve the problems in front of you and you
can go through the exit to the next level.
The game starts real easy and it's a matter of pushing a few blocks out
of the way to reach the exit. Blocks can only be pushed away from you so
there must be space in the direction you want it to go, there is no way
to pull blocks. Many of the levels require you to push the blocks in certain
areas and in a specific order or you will not be able to finish the sequence.
This is only the start ofcourse and once the levels progress you will have
to watch other hazards like ice which prevents you from walking properly
or slide the blocks until they reach another object. There will also be
more and more types of blocks and ground tiles with various effects and
ofcourse ways to get around them and levels get progressively bigger and
bigger. There are 120 levels in total and you can reach any of them with
a handy code once you finish each level.
I quite like puzzle games because they are usually easy to pick up and you
don't have to spend a long time learning the games. Yet if executed properly
you can find yourself getting back to the game again and again to get that
level you just can't figure out. It doesn't have the staying power like
tetris but that is a true classic and one of my favorites of all time. X-it
does a good job and with 120 levels to complete you'll be playing this one
for quite some time before you complete it.
