- Jordan vs. Bird - one on one -
|
|
It's quite common for a well
known person to 'sponsor' a product but not often do you see two people
in the same game. Jordan vs. Bird - one on one is a basketball game in which
you can take control of one of them and play against the other as your opponent.
There is no team play but you can play three different challenges. You can
play a one on one game for points, a slamdunk contest or a 3-point shootout.
Each of the three subgames has a number of extra options, in the slamdunk
for instance you can choose a certain dunk to perform and you have to execute
it but you can also play follow the leader in which you must copy your opponents
moves. The 3-point shootout is a case of shooting a set number of balls
from different points on the field within a timelimit. In one on one play
you have to score a set amount of points, you can set some more options
like fouls and period length if you play a full game. Each game also has
a warmup option which is basically a practice mode.
This game differs from other basketball games in that it doesn't even have
a team play mode in which you play a five on five game. However the minigames
are fun to play especially the slamdunk in which you can do some hilarious
moves called kiss the rim and statue of liberty. The events are obviously
made for the two characters in the game Larry Bird was wellknown for his
threepointers and Michael Jordan for his airial moves. That said if you're
expecting a fullblown basketball game this isn't for you but those looking
for a different kind of game won't do bad with this one.
